Eyelid Surgery Patient-30
Asian male in his 20s had eyelid ptosis which is a condition where the eye elevating muscle is weak, causing the upper eyelid to droop which can restrict or impair vision. The eye elevating muscle is responsible for raising the eyelid, so a patient with ptosis will have difficulty opening their eyes and will compensate by raising their forehead. In the before photo, you can note forehead wrinkles as the patient is attempting to open their eyes wider with their forehead muscles. This patient underwent ptosis correction and Asian double eyelid surgery (Asian blepharoplasty). The ptosis repair helped strengthen the eye elevating muscle and the Asian blepharoplasty created double eyelid folds. The after photo shows improved eyelid elevation without forehead strain and larger, brighter eyes where the iris is more visible
