Before and After Gallery: Eyelid Surgery

This before-and-after result shows a combined awake brow lift (forehead lift) and Asian upper blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery), performed entirely under local anesthesia without general anesthesia or IV sedation.

The double eyelid surgery created a natural-looking eyelid crease that gave the eyes a brighter, more youthful appearance while maintaining facial harmony. The brow lift smoothed the forehead, softened fine lines, and addressed the hooding of the outer upper eyelids—together creating a refreshed, youthful appearance.

Because these procedures were performed awake under local anesthesia, the patient avoided the risks associated with general anesthesia and twilight/conscious sedation while benefiting from a faster recovery and a more comfortable surgical experience.

Eyelid ptosis (droopy eyelids) often causes people to strain to open their eyes, which can lead to forehead lines and wrinkles as people raise their brows to compensate for a weakened eyelid muscle. Ptosis repair strengthens the levator muscle, allowing the eyes to open more fully and easily, while the brow lift smooths forehead lines.

Upper blepharoplasty helped create more open, refreshed, and youthful eyes with defined supratarsal creases.

Lower blepharoplasty, combined with a midface lift performed through the same incision, smoothed the under-eye area and elevated the midface region just below the lower eyelid — improving contour and softening the nasolabial folds.

The results show a natural and harmonious restoration of the forehead, eyes, and midface. All procedures were performed awake under local anesthesia, allowing for enhanced precision, safety, and smoother recovery. This approach also avoids many of the adverse effects associated with general anesthesia and sedation, including grogginess, delayed recovery, brain fog, and cognitive decline.
