Do Asians have two eyelids?

Some people may think that Asians have two eyelids. This confusion comes from the word “double fold eyelid” and “double lidded eyes.” But of course, Asians do not have two eyelids within one eye. This often means that clients of Asian descent desire a double fold eyelid, double eyelid fold or double eyelid crease. The double eyelid surgery means to convert a patient’s monolid or a smaller double fold eyelid into a larger double fold eyelid.

About double eye surgery

The procedure is also known as Korean eyelid surgery. The reason for this name is that Koreans often receive this surgery and it is the most common type of plastic surgery being performed in Korea. It is also known as blepharoplasty Asian eyes surgery or monolid-to-double eyelid surgery.

At the hands of an experienced surgeon, the results of the procedure create double lidded eyes that look natural where even when the patient closes their eyes, the double eyelid fold looks almost as if it was non-operated.

The phrasing double fold eyelid creation is what confuses people about Asians having two eyelids. But the truth is that Korean eyelid surgery or double fold eyelid surgery is simply a procedure that creates a double eyelid fold on the monolids.
