Bulbous Tip Correction
A bulbous nose indicates a nose with a large amount of soft tissue at the nasal tip, which makes the overall nose wide and flat on the face. In order to correct this, we will perform a tip-plasty.
Dorsal Hump Correction
This can be corrected in two ways: one is reducing the hump by shaving the hump, which is a relatively simple procedure. The second is to augment the area between the hump which is the radix (between the eyes, the upper part of the bridge) and to bring up the nasal tip.
Droopy Tip Correction
A droopy nasal tip can be corrected using tip-plasty. If the tip requires more refinement, cartilage can be grafted to achieve the ideal shape of the nose.
Hump Reduction
A hump reduction procedure entails two important parts: smoothing out the nose bridge and elevating the drooping nose tip to obtain a harmonious and ideal nose shape.
Tip-Plasty
Tip-plasty can correct a low-sitting nose, a largely up-turned nose, a pointy nose, or a bulbous nose.
Flat and Short Nose Correction
These noses are similar to Asian noses in that the nose has to be augmented, and this is done by using one’s own rib cartilage, ear cartilage, and fascia on the scalp. These patients will notice a dramatic change, as a more pronounced nose will make the face appear smaller and more 3-dimensional (vs flat).
